Responsibilities

  • Implement field efforts to collect data from wildlife on sponsored projects.
  • Collate, curate, and analyze data collected in field related to pathogens from feral swine in livestock, wildlife, environment, etc.
  • Maintain field equipment and prepare reports.
  • Trap, handle, and/or euthanize captured wild animals.
  • Operate and maintain safety in all operations of agency vehicles and/or equipment, including firearms.
  • Work beyond normal business and/or work on weekends as needed.
  • Coordinate and Assist Internal and External Research Partners

Position Information

  • Operation of off-road vehicles and equipment.
  • Use of firearms to euthanize wild animals.
  • Safe conduct of animal trapping.
  • Use of computers to enter data.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Must lift heavy objects and exert heavy force.
Required licenses, certifications, or registrations
  • Ability to obtain Class C Driver's License
Preferred licenses, certifications, or registrations
  • License to Carry Firearm

Salary: Compensation for this position is commensurate based on the selected candidate's qualifications.

Position Funding: This position is grant funded and availability is contingent on grant funding.
