The Guo Laboratory at The Ohio State University is seeking a research technician to support research studying the molecular mechanism of tumor cells manipulating glucose, glutamine and lipid metabolism.

Primary Responsibilities

• Create and maintain records of materials and sample inventory.
• Purchase supplies for the laboratory and record usage for future reference.
• Communicate with outside vendors for supplies, orders, and promotions.
• Coordinate with grant managers for updated usage dates and available funds.
• Assist other lab members in performing in vitro assays, animal work, and wet lab assays.

Required Qualifications

• B.S. in Neuroscience, Biology, Biochemistry, or a comparable field or discipline.
• Demonstrated ability to perform laboratory management tasks (including ordering, documentation, sample inventory).
• Motivated to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary research setting.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with in vitro work (cell culture, cell treatment, organoid and single-cell sample processing).
• Ability to perform routine laboratory assays (including Western blot, confocal imaging, IHC staining and imaging, H&E staining and imaging, flow cytometry, and PCR).
• Comfortable with small rodent handling and animal procedures.
• Prior experience and comfort presenting research.

Minimum Required Qualifications

"Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required; 4 years of relevant experience required with High School diploma or GED, 2 years of relevant experience required with Associate's Degree, or 0 years of relevant experience required with Bachelor's Degree."
