Job summary

DeepMind in Mountain View is seeking a Research Scientist to develop cutting‑edge social simulation techniques powered by large language models. This role focuses on building computational frameworks of human simulations that are accurate, diverse, and scalable across individuals to large groups.

You will formulate metrics, run multimodal experiments, collaborate with product teams to deploy findings, and publish in top AI and social science venues, advancing societal health and real‑world

Qualifications

• PhD in CS, computational social science, statistics or related field.
• 2 years of publishing research in ML or NLP venues (e.g., NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, ACL).
• 2 years in areas such as AI social impact, RL, multimodal agents, computational social science or NLU.

Responsibilities

• Drive projects by defining key research questions.
• Design, implement, and evaluate experiments to provide clear answers.
• Publish research findings in top conferences and journals.
• Collaborate with internal and external scientific domain experts.
• Contribute to real-world impact by landing research in Google products and services.
