Alexander Chapman is partnering with a rapidly scaling AI company to recruit a Junior Research Scientist. The role focuses on applying advanced ML and LLM techniques to real-world problems, bridging research and production.

You will work across ML, large language models, predictive modeling, and conversational AI, collaborating with engineering, product, and data science teams. A PhD and strong Python ML experience are required; in-office presence 4-5 days a week is expected.

Qualifications

We are working with a rapidly scaling AI company that is building and deploying advanced ML and LLM systems at significant production scale, and your background stood out as potentially relevant.

They’re looking to bring on a Junior Research Scientist to join a team of highly technical researchers working across machine learning, large language models, predictive modeling, and conversational AI.

The role would suit someone with a strong mathematical/quantitative foundation, particularly a PhD in Mathematics, Theoretical Physics, Computer Science, or a related field, who wants to move beyond purely academic research and apply their work to real-world problems.

You’d be working on areas including:

• Developing and optimizing ML architectures for advanced conversational systems
• Applying statistical, mathematical, and ML techniques to real-world behavioral prediction and optimization problems
• Working directly with the latest LLMs and generative AI technologies
• Conducting research and analysis to improve production AI systems
• Collaborating closely with engineering, product, and data science teams to take models from research into production
• Exploring and implementing new research across ML and AI

What they’re looking for:

• PhD in Mathematics, Theoretical Physics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field
• Strong understanding of ML algorithms, statistics, and data modeling
• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
