Job summary

Google seeks a Research Scientist to set up large-scale tests and deploy ideas rapidly, applying latest theories to build and improve products and technologies. The role spans machine learning, data mining, NLP, hardware and software performance analysis, and more.

Responsibilities include designing experiments, prototyping implementations, and shaping architectures while coordinating deadlines and deliverables to advance Google’s research objectives.

Qualifications

• PhD degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, Electrical Engineering, Geography, Epidemiology, or a related quantitative field.
• 2 years of experience leading a research agenda.
• Experience in developing and deploying models using frameworks on High Performance Computing hardware.
• One or more scientific publication submissions for conferences, journals, or public repositories.

Earth AI is a family of geospatial foundation models, datasets, and Gemini-powered agents for understanding and predicting planetary shifts. Our remote sensing and population architectures are licensed commercially, power features across company ecosystems, and are used by enterprises in health, advertising, and site planning. These tools help responders anticipate where an outbreak will spread next and identify lagging vaccination coverage. Google Research is building the next generation of intelligent systems for all Google products. To achieve this, we’re working on projects that utilize the latest computer science techniques developed by skilled software developers and research scientists. Google Research teams collaborate closely with other teams across Google, maintaining the flexibility and versatility required to adapt new projects and foci that meet the demands of the world's fast-paced business needs.Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
