Job summary

Amazon’s Alexa Customer Science (ACS) team seeks a Research Scientist to design, conduct, and analyze research to understand customers’ preferences and behaviors for Alexa devices. You will own projects end-to-end, from measurement strategy to reporting, collaborating with product managers, UX researchers, data scientists, designers, and engineers.

Ideal candidates have strong quantitative research background, experience with surveys, experiments, and AI applications, and comfort with ambiguous

Qualifications

• PhD or Master's with 4+ years of quantitative field research
• Experience applying scientific principles to business problems
• Experience analyzing experimental and observational data sets
• Knowledge of R, MATLAB, Python or similar scripting language
• Experience with agile development
• Experience building web based dashboards using common frameworks
• Experience with AI/ML technologies

Responsibilities

• Work with product/marketing to identify topics and build a research roadmap
• Develop deep understanding of customers using descriptive, inferential, and experimental approaches
• Design, implement, and analyze data from surveys and randomized experiments
• Collaborate with data engineering to triangulate survey data with engagement data
• Create repeatable, scalable metrics for product iteration
• Synthesize data types into focused, actionable insights for partners and leaders
• Promote best practices and train teammates for new projects
