Research Scientist (AI) - Cell & Tissue Modeling

Our team includes leading scientists, engineers, and entrepreneurs pushing the boundaries of AI and biological sciences. We aim to decode biology holistically and enable next-generation solutions, pioneering a new era of biomedicine with our Large Biological Models (LBM). Key Responsibilities

• PhD (or equivalent expertise) in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, or related fields.
• Proven research record in top-tier AI/ML and biology journals and conferences.
• Experience developing and debugging deep learning models using frameworks like JAX, TensorFlow, or PyTorch, with interests in generative models, graph neural networks, or large-scale applications.
• Strong foundation in statistics, optimization, graph algorithms, and linear algebra, with experience building models from scratch.
• Passion for interdisciplinary research at the intersection of AI and Biology, with willingness to learn domain knowledge.
• Self-motivated and capable of working with partial or high-level objectives typical in startups.
• Familiarity with software engineering best practices and open-source contributions.

Nice to Have

• 3+ years post-PhD experience in industry or postdoctoral roles.
• Experience in startups or top research labs (e.g., OpenAI, FAIR, DeepMind, Google Research).
• Hands-on experience at the intersection of AI and Biology.
• Experience with distributed training and inference on accelerators.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with single-cell RNA sequencing data.
• Experience with spatial transcriptomics, proteomics, or microscopy data.
• Methods development for the above data types.
• Experience with multimodal or multiscale models.
• Deep knowledge of variational autoencoders (e.g., scVI), vision transformers, GNNs, neural fields, diffusion models, or self-supervised learning.
