Responsibilities

Position Summary

The Director will lead a multidisciplinary team, oversee daily operations and budgets, ensure high-quality and reproducible data generation, and partner with investigators to design and execute genomics studies. The Director will also guide platform evaluation and technology adoption in response to emerging needs. The Director will report to the Senior Director of Data Science and AI, the Deputy Director of HCI , and interact with the Shared Resource Advisory Committee Members.

Key Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications

EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT : 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience (Example: bachelor’s degree = 4 years of directly related work experience).

Director, Research Science: Requires a bachelor’s (or equivalency) + 12 years or a master’s (or equivalency) + 10 years of directly related work experience.

• PhD, MD/PhD, or equivalent terminal degree in genomics, molecular biology, or a related field.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in high-throughput genomics, sequencing operations, assay development, or shared resource leadership.
• Demonstrated expertise in high-throughput sequencing workflows.
• Proven leadership experience managing teams and complex operations.
• Strong communication and customer‑service orientation with a track record of effective investigator partnership.
