Job summary

AdventHealth in Orlando, FL seeks a dedicated research professional to support neuropsychological assessments across studies. You will collaborate with scientists and clinicians to implement protocols, recruit participants, and manage data entry.

The role involves in-clinic and potentially multi-site testing with an emphasis on accuracy and privacy. The ideal candidate brings experience with neuropsychological testing, strong attention to detail, and proficiency in Microsoft Office and scoring

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree is required; Master's degree preferred.
  • 3+ years experience administering neuropsychological tests.
  • Experience administering tests as part of research trials is preferred.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is an asset.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA data protection and patient advocacy.

Responsibilities

Job Description:

Collaborates with scientists, psychologists, psychiatrists, neurologists, physicians, and other study team members to provide consultations and implement research protocols. Assists in coordinating ongoing research activities, including meeting with study investigators, site monitors, and other study team members, subject recruitment and scheduling, and completion of required data elements. Executes the informed consent process for research participants in clinical trials and research studies across multiple locations. Provides high-level service during clinical trials and ensures accurate data entry into research databases. Performs other duties as assigned. Conducts in-service training for new assessment tools or scoring programs. Instructs trainees in proper test administration and reviews their work for accuracy. Conducts inpatient and outpatient assessments of research participants with various cognitive, developmental, medical, and neurological conditions. Administers and scores a wide range of psychological and neuropsychological tests. Establishes and maintains an appropriate testing environment in various settings. Documents behavioral observations and provides a brief summary of test results. Ensures compliant data entry and data mining into registries, patient records, and research-specific databases. Participates in sponsor/CRO/PI-mandated training on tests used in specific research trials and demonstrates proficiency in administering these tests.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Specialized knowledge of the unique needs of the populations being studied, including people with cognitive and behavioral impairments, people with physical impairments like movement disorders, tremors, and hearing loss, and people with anxiety and depression [Required]
  • Significant experience in the administration, recording, and scoring of neuropsychological tests, such as the MoCA, California Verbal Learning Test, or the Clinical Dementia Rating Scal [Required]
  • Excellent attention to detail [Required]
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced clinical or research environment, handling multiple tasks simultaneously, effectively, and in an organized and timely manner [Required]
  • Knowledge of HIPAA data protection and patient advocacy or similar awareness of ethical treatment of participants in research [Required]
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with research participants, investigators, research staff and external partners. [Required]
  • Ability to apply analytical approach to problem solving, obtain and analyze facts, and apply sound judgement. [Required]
  • Ability to accept direction and respond to the changing needs of clinical research units [Required]
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, such as Word, Excel, Access, Teams, and Outlook, and Internet knowledge and skill [Required]
  • Familiarity with psychology scoring software [Required]
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Experience in hospital or other clinical or research setting or related clinical externship
  • Specialized knowledge of assigned scientific or therapeutic areas as it relates to research and clinical trials
Education:
  • Bachelor's [Required]
