Posting Summary

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Research Project Assistant for the Institute for Health, Health Care Policy and Aging Research. The primary purpose of this position is to support a broad portfolio of mixed methods health services research with particular focus on mental health and addiction treatment services and outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Performs primary data collection (e.g., surveys, interviews).
  • Handles data management and analysis.
  • Manages research administrative logistics for ongoing studies and literature reviews for academic manuscripts and abstracts.
Qualifications
  • Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related scientific field, public health, or an equivalent combination of education and/or relevant research experience.
  • Social & Behavioral Research CITI Certification.
  • Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and client service skills.
  • Strong computer proficiency, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite, REDCap survey software, and Zotero citation management software.
  • Experience conducting or supporting research involving populations with mental illness and addiction.
  • Ability to accurately record, maintain, and manage data in both computerized and non‑computerized formats.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Microsoft Office Equipment, database software, citation management software.
Compensation and Benefits

Salary Range: $52,602.48 – $76,975.48 per year, with mid‑range $64,788.98.

Employment Details

Position Status: Full Time

Working Hours: Standard Hours 37.50

Daily Work Shift: Consistent with the current application of Rutgers Policy 60.3.22 or the applicable provisions of relevant collective negotiations agreements, this position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement. Flexible work arrangements are not permanent, subject to change or discontinuation, and contingent on the employee receiving approval in the FlexWork@RU Application System.

Immunization Requirements
