Job summary

Texas A&M University’s Biology Department seeks a Research Program Associate I to support ongoing research by maintaining laboratory equipment, preparing materials, and assisting with operations.

You will train teaching assistants on procedures, coordinate research sessions, manage supplies, ensure safety compliance, collect data, and document results as part of a collaborative research team.

Qualifications

• High school graduation or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Three years of experience in a research lab or office setting.
• Master’s degree in Biology or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• One year of related working in a research or laboratory setting.
• Mechanical engineering research experience in a biological research laboratory setting.
• Familiarity with routine laboratory procedures, safety, regulations and equipment.
• Ability to accurately follow protocols.
• Ability to collaborate and work in teams.

Responsibilities

• Supports daily laboratory operations, including staff support, quality control, maintenance of laboratory, computing, and research equipment.
• Administration of lab software and behavioral acquisition systems, and management of supplies and resources.
• Coordinates and supports research activities, including preparing, scheduling, and setting up research sessions, developing protocols, collaborating with researchers, and coordinating with IT support.
• Assists with research experiments, data collection, recordkeeping, analysis, and documentation of research findings.
• Trains students and teaching assistants on laboratory protocols, procedures, and equipment use.
