  • Experience designing and developing research protocols involving environmental extremes.

  • Experience with wearable physiological sensors and real-time physiological data collection.

  • Experience managing and analyzing large physiological datasets

  • Experience with data cleaning, processing, statistical analysis, and interpretation of physiological data.

  • Experience with exercise and metabolic testing, including maximal oxygen uptake, submaximal endurance testing, resting ventilation, and pulmonary function testing.

  • Experience with phlebotomy and clinical blood gas analyzers

  • Real-time data collection using wearable sensors.

  • Data streaming coordination including information management rights, iCloud use, computer management and security, and data management of large data sets (up to 5 million data points per person).

  • Data cleaning skills in MATLAB and EXCEL to time align data points with various sensors and identify erroneous data points and outliers.

  • Ability to code in MATLAB, R studio, SPSS and SAS for final data analysis and development of predictive algorithms to predict illness.

  • Interpret findings using subject matter expertise and literature reviews to validate the real-time models and confirm whether the findings are normal or abnormal from expected physiologic responses to a given environment.

  • Subject matter expertise in the physiologic response to cold, heat and high terrestrial altitude.

  • Subject matter expertise in exercise and metabolic measurements including maximal oxygen uptake, submaximal endurance testing, and resting ventilation and pulmonary function testing.

  • Subject matter expertise in phlebotomy and clinical laboratory skills in running blood gas analyzers such as the NOVA Profile Plus, Radiometer, or ISTAT clinical blood analyzers.

  • Travel: CONUS travel may be required based on study schedules and mission needs.
