Job summary

Merck offers a Future Talent Program internship in the Research Labs division, designed for students pursuing business, data analytics, or health informatics. The 12-week internship in NIRM–RIBE focuses on process improvement, AI-enabled tool integration, and cross-functional workflow optimization across Global Medical and Scientific Affairs.

You will map processes, pilot AI tools, analyze metrics, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, culminating in a capstone presentation to leadership.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or master's degree in business, Data Analytics, MIS, Health Informatics, or related fields.
• Returning to school in Fall 2027.
• Basic understanding of process optimization frameworks (Lean, Agile, Six Sigma, workflow mapping).
• Analytical mindset with intermediate data analysis and metric visualization skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; strong time-management in on-site/remote environments.

Responsibilities

• Process Improvement & Mapping: document, evaluate, and map existing workflows; identify bottlenecks and gaps; propose tech-driven solutions.
• AI & Digital Tool Enablement: pilot and evaluate AI-enhanced tools and platforms to automate tasks and track deliverables.
• Data Analytics & Insights: collect, analyze, and visualize operational metrics to show time savings and quality gains.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: coordinate with diverse stakeholders to execute study initiatives globally.
• Capstone Presentation: present results and strategic recommendations to leadership at end of 12-week term.
