Responsibilities

  • Coordinate professional nursing research and study services in support of a medical research program, in inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • Recruit, care for, and treat research subjects according to study protocols and FDA guidelines.
  • Ensure adherence to hospital policies, nursing standards, and safety procedures.
  • Plan and implement clinical protocols, oversee daily clinical activities, and ensure efficient workflow.
  • Recruit, screen, enroll, and retain research subjects; instruct on treatments and protocols.
  • Establish data collection systems, monitor data and specimen collection, and maintain documentation.
  • Monitor patient responses, communicate data to investigators, and prepare reports.
  • Maintain records on medication dispensation and inventory, ensuring confidentiality.
  • Coordinate with investigators, departments, sponsors, and regulatory bodies.
  • Administer medications, perform phlebotomy, monitor vital signs, and other procedures as needed.
  • Oversee and guide other nursing/support staff involved in study activities.

Leadership and Teamwork

  • Lead patient care efforts, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and participate in quality assurance.
  • Maintain emergency readiness, supplies, and ensure safety standards.
  • Perform charge nurse duties when applicable, and participate in professional development, education, and governance activities.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
  • Minimum 3 years of cardiac cath lab experience with 1 year in data management.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to respond calmly in emergencies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • BSN degree.

Licenses and Certifications

  • NJ State Professional Registered Nurse License.
