University of Houston is seeking a Research Liaison to support the funding process for Research Science and Education across departments. You will collaborate with internal offices and external partners to coordinate, develop, fund, and implement research projects.

Responsibilities include identifying alliances, coordinating grant proposals, and facilitating technology transfer to industry. Strong communication, project coordination, and strategic thinking are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Experience with university funding processes or grants is preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
• Ability to work with cross-disciplinary teams and external partners.
• Education or experience in a specialized discipline related to research funding is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Identify and maintain research alliances to design and implement specific projects.
• Coordinate and assist with writing funding proposals and related activities.
• Identify technologies with commercialization potential and develop transfer strategies.
• Serve on special projects at the director's discretion.
• Act as liaison between the Office of Research, faculty, and funding agencies.
• Coordinate visits of local, state, national, and international visitors.
• Serve as program and administrative manager for the funding process functions.
• Assist in developing research clusters and PI proposal development.
• Develop marketing plans for technologies, including newsletters and press releases.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Supports individuals and groups within the University of Houstonin all phases of the funding process in an effort to fund projectsin Research Science and Education. Collaborates with other researchentities and private businesses outside of the University System tocoordinate, develop, fund, and implement research projects.

• 1. Identifies and maintains research alliances with potentialcollaborative partners to formulate and implement specific researchprojects.


• 2. Coordinates and assists with writing funding proposals andcoordinates related activities with the appropriate universityadministrative department.


• 3. Identifies technologies with high potential forcommercialization and develop strategies to transfer technologiesinto the industrial sector.


• 4. Serves on special projects at the discretion of thedirector.


• 5. Acts a liaison between the office of research and the facultyand funding agencies.


• 6. Coordinates visits of local, state, national, and internationalvisitors; coordinates meetings/special events for externalconstituents.


• 7. Serves as a program and administrative manager for the fundingprocess functions; assists in grants and contracting process.


• 8. Assists in developing and organizing research clusters andfacilitates multiple Principle Investigator proposaldevelopment.


• 9. Develops marketing plans for specific technologies, includingnewsletters, website, and press releases and announcements.

MQ: Requires singular knowledge of a specialized advancedprofessional discipline or the highest level of general businessknowledge, normally acquired through attainment of a Master'sDegree or equivalent formal training in a recognized field ofspecialization that is directly related to the type of work beingperformed. Requires a minimum of three (3) years of directlyjob-related experience.
