Creighton University in Omaha, NE is seeking to hire a Research Lab Tech I in the School of Medicine.


We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to join our research team. The position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain hands-on research experience in an auditory neuroscience lab, where we focus on how developmental hearing loss impacts brain function and behavior. Assist in data collection for future extramural grant applications. This is a full-time, grant funded position.


Ideal individual will have strong organizational skills and attention to detail and be responsible, reliable, and enthusiastic about laboratory research.



Key Responsibilities



  • Training and handling small animals (gerbils) for auditory behavior tasks

  • Assisting with data collection and analysis for research experiments

  • Maintaining detailed records of experiments and laboratory activities

  • Contributing to the organization and upkeep of the laboratory



Qualifications



  • Bachelors Degree

  • 1 year of experience, previous experience in research, animal handling, or animal behavior (preferred but not required)

  • Basic understanding of neuroscience principles

  • Willing to learn techniques in the laboratory, including behavioral training

  • Willing to handle rodents (gerbils)
