Acro Service Corp. is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join the research team in Johnston, IA, for 6–12 months with possible extension. The role involves hands-on work across lab, greenhouse, and field environments and supports DNA extraction and PCR activities.

The successful candidate will have a BS in a chemistry or life sciences field or related coursework, plus relevant lab experience. Opportunity to contribute to diverse projects and gain practical laboratory skills.

Qualifications

• BS degree or coursework in Chemistry, Biology, Plant Science, Botany, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, or related field.
• 1+ year of relevant laboratory, research, agricultural, plant, or scientific experience preferred.
• Familiarity with DNA extraction, PCR, sample preparation, or other basic laboratory methods is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Assist scientists and technical staff with day-to-day research and laboratory activities.
• Collect, label, process, and organize plant and biological samples.
• Support laboratory testing and research activities, including DNA extraction and PCR.
• Assist with high-throughput sample processing and laboratory workflows.
• Maintain accurate sample records, data, and laboratory documentation.
• Perform work according to established SOPs, methods, and safety procedures.
• Work in laboratory, greenhouse, and field settings as needed.
