The University of Virginia's Department of Pathology - Kadin Lab is seeking a Laboratory Research Technician with strong background in sciences to support diverse research activities. Candidate should have hands-on experience with cell culture, molecular biology techniques, and familiarity with biosafety regulations.

Responsibilities include cell culture, RNA/DNA extraction, RT-PCR, flow cytometry, and imaging techniques, with emphasis on accurate record-keeping and data analysis.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree required; may accept equivalent combination of experience, education, certification in lieu of degree.
• 2+ years of lab experience.

Responsabilités

• Perform a variety of laboratory procedures supporting research and related services.
• Conduct cell culture and cryopreservation of cells.
• Execute RNA and DNA extraction, RT-PCR, flow cytometry, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, and light microscopy techniques.
• Ensure compliance with biosafety and laboratory safety regulations and sanitation protocols.
• Provide limited surgical assistance when required.
• Maintain accurate records and utilize software for data analysis and reporting.
• Collaborate with researchers and staff to discuss techniques and results; assist with animal care as needed.
