Job summary

The University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus is seeking Laboratory Science Professionals at entry to senior levels in the Physiology and Biophysics domain. You will work in wet labs, perform experiments, analyze data, and support PI-led research under established protocols.

Responsibilities scale with level—from basic lab support and sample handling to developing procedures, leading study design, and mentoring junior staff, while ensuring safety and compliance across daily operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in biology, molecular biology, chemistry, genetics or related field
• Combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis
• One (1) year professional level research experience (for intermediate level)
• Two (2) years professional level research experience (for senior level)
• Master's degree in biology, molecular biology, chemistry, genetics or related field (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with and support Principal Investigators (PI) and other stakeholders with laboratory and research functions
• Utilize a variety of laboratory techniques required for research projects
• Perform experiments and tabulate and analyze research
• Support analytical testing process using standard lab support knowledge in the collection and review of conditions
• Perform pre-analytical, analytical and post analytical test process and evaluate results
• Prepare lab for daily operations, including stocking materials, equipment, safety, cleanliness
• Provide animal care related to research studies, as necessary
• Dispose of laboratory materials and samples using established guidelines
• Review, complete and process logs, documents, databases, and related materials and information
• Assist with ensuring compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations; receive guidance and direction or escal
• Independently Review, develop and implement new or modified laboratory techniques required for research projects
• Assist and train junior team members
• Assist with developing protocols and SOPs; share results with leadership
• Provide laboratory science expertise and leadership in study design, data management, and manuscript preparation
