Job summary

Rush University Medical Center is offering a Research Intern position in Chicago. This temporary role exposes undergraduate and graduate students to clinical, laboratory, epidemiological, and data-driven research under a PI and team.

You will contribute to data collection, literature reviews, manuscript preparation, and regulatory compliance while gaining hands-on experience in a dynamic research environment.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate academic program; OR have completed an Associate’s, Bachelor’s, or Master’s degree within the past two years; OR have been accepted into a graduate or professional program with a confirmed future start date.
• Ability to apply analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a research setting.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and/or Google Suite.
• Ability to communicate effectively at all levels, relative to project needs.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to HIPAA, OSHA, FDA, OHRP, and other regulatory bodies for research integrity, data security, and laboratory safety.
• Perform all job responsibilities in compliance with institutional policies and procedures.
• Execute and/or conduct protocol-related activities or experiments.
• Assist with data collection, entry, and analysis for research projects.
• Conduct literature reviews, scientific writing, and assist with manuscript or report preparation for presentations or publications.
• Participate in research team meetings and contribute to study discussions.
• Assist in chart reviews, secondary data analysis, and qualitative research as required including data cleaning, data visualization, and synthesis of findings.
• Contribute to maintaining accurate research records and compliance documentation.
• Prepare study-related materials, reports, and documentation for internal and external use.
• Complete all mandatory trainings.
