Job summary

The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center seeks an ambitious Instructor, Research to drive cutting-edge work in cellular therapies, cancer immunology, and immune engineering. You will guide projects toward first-in-human studies, support scientific initiatives, and mentor junior scientists.

PhD or equivalent in Immunology or related field with at least 3 years postdoctoral experience and a track record of peer-reviewed publications is required.

Qualifications

• Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent advanced degree in Immunology, Molecular Biology, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of postdoctoral or relevant research experience.
• Proven record of publications in peer-reviewed journals.
• Grant-writing experience and demonstrated funding success.
• Expertise in immunology, T-cell biology, cellular therapies and/or cancer biology.

Responsibilities

• Design, execute, and manage innovative research projects in cellular therapies and cancer immunology.
• Identify and characterize novel immunotherapy targets.
• Develop and refine cellular engineering approaches, including T-cell modification and genetic editing.
• Support preparation of grants, publications, and conference presentations.
• Mentor graduate students, postdocs, and junior staff.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and contribute to strategic direction.
