UT Southwestern Medical Center is seeking an administrative professional to support researchers by identifying funding opportunities, assisting with proposal preparation and processing, and supporting research administration.

The role involves negotiating contracts, receiving awards, monitoring grant status, and guiding researchers through sponsor guidelines to ensure timely submissions and compliant agreements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required: business administration, public administration, or related field.
• 2 years of experience in business/public administration with emphasis on customer service in financial or contracting position.
• Applicants with significant additional professional applicable experience may be considered in lieu of education requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide funding opportunity information to potential applicants by reading newsletters and announcements, identifying and matching sponsor with researcher, and mailing out information.
• Guide researchers for proposal development and submission by interpreting sponsor and university announcements and guidelines on application preparation and content; review proposals for completeness and adherence to guidelines and mail out proposals in a timely manner.
• Provide grants management support by negotiating and processing awards, interpreting award conditions, obtaining approvals for award changes, and obtaining required reports.
• Draft and negotiate contracts with state and federal agencies, private organizations, pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies to achieve satisfactory agreements following laws and Board of Regents' guidelines.
• Provide guidance and assistance for implementation and negotiation of research contracts, including sponsored research agreements and material transfer agreements.
• Monitor status of contracts for completion.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
