10a Labs is seeking a remote Research Analyst to join our safety and threat-intelligence team. You will conduct open-source and targeted research, analyze findings, and report clearly to stakeholders. The work involves sensitive topics requiring discretion.

Responsibilities include designing research methods, collaborating with teammates, and quickly summarizing complex information into concise reports. Flexible schedule up to 20 hours/week; compensation from $25–$32.50/hour for undergrads/grad

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in international relations, political science, economics, cybersecurity, or related field — or equivalent professional experience.
• Demonstrated interest or experience in online research, information security, or trust & safety.
• Ability to quickly summarize complex information into concise, actionable reports.
• Comfort working independently and collaboratively in a remote setting.
• Basic scripting skills (e.g., Python) or familiarity with research automation tools.

Our adversarial red teaming, model evaluations, and intelligence collection enable engineering, safety, and security teams to stay ahead of evolving threats and deploy AI systems safely.

Location & Travel Expectations

We are primarily seeking candidates based in the Washington, DC, New York City, San Francisco Bay Area, and Denver metropolitan areas. Candidates hired in these locations will be expected to work from a 10a Labs office at least two days per week. All new hires will participate in in-person onboarding in Washington, DC, New York City, or San Francisco during their first week. Occasional travel may also be required for interviews, in-person meetings, and other business needs.

In This Role, You Will

• Work on sensitive topics (e.g. hate, violence, scams and fraud, etc.) with professionalism and care.

We're Looking For Someone Who

• Possesses strong analytical, writing, and research skills.
• Has experience or coursework in security research, international studies, trust & safety, or related fields.
• Thinks critically, communicates findings clearly, and adapts quickly to evolving tasks.

Requirements

Compensation & Benefits

• Work remotely, though must be based in the continental U.S.
• $25 per hour for undergraduate students
• $32.50 per hour for graduate students
• Flexible schedule, potentially up to 20 hours per week (negotiable)
