Job summary

10a Labs is seeking a part-time research-focused role for candidates based in the continental United States. You will conduct open-source and targeted research, analyze findings, and report results to stakeholders across security and safety teams.

The role emphasizes independent work in a remote setting, with potential flexibility up to 20 hours per week. Strong writing and analytical skills, plus basic Python scripting, are important for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in international relations, political science, economics, cybersecurity, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Interest or experience in online research, information security, or trust & safety.
• Ability to summarize complex information into concise, actionable reports.
• Comfort working independently and collaboratively in a remote setting.
• Basic scripting skills (e.g., Python) or familiarity with research automation tools.

Responsibilities

• Conduct open-source and targeted research in various sources, including social media, forums, and news outlets.
• Analyze, summarize, and clearly report findings for a variety of stakeholders.

Our adversarial red teaming, model evaluations, and intelligence collection enable engineering, safety, and security teams to stay ahead of evolving threats and deploy AI systems safely.

Location & Travel Expectations

We are primarily seeking candidates based in the Washington, DC, New York City, San Francisco Bay Area, and Denver metropolitan areas. Candidates hired in these locations will be expected to work from a 10a Labs office at least two days per week. All new hires will participate in in-person onboarding in Washington, DC, New York City, or San Francisco during their first week. Occasional travel may also be required for interviews, in-person meetings, and other business needs.
