Job summary

University of Kentucky seeks a STEPS Research Farm Technician II for the Research Farms division in Lexington, KY. The role supports research activities and maintains/fixes facilities and equipment across farm operations.

Responsibilities include general farm maintenance, calibration of pesticide equipment, and contributing to the aesthetics and safety of the facilities. Work schedule typically Monday–Friday with potential overtime and weekend coverage as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience with lawn care preferred.

Responsibilities

• General farm and facilities maintenance such as mowing, trimming, landscape maintenance, planting trees, tree/ limb removal and cleanup, including felling trees, road repairs, fence construction/repair including painting, building repairs and maintenance.
• Calibrate pesticide application equipment, mix and apply pesticides
• Other duties to maintain and improve aesthetics of the facilities
• Any/all other duties related to facilities and farm maintenance not specifically described above.
