The Pittsburgh-based Bosch Research and Technology Center focuses on developing cutting-edge AI and sensing technologies that will influence the future of Bosch products. This role involves designing and developing intelligent multi-modal sensing at the intersection of deep learning and signal processing, with applications from physical security to connected vehicles.

Originating from Bosch AI research in Pittsburgh, our team pushes the boundaries of signal sensing and multimodal models through key innovations to solve complex industry problems. We collaborate with internal Bosch units to transfer solutions into products and work with academia and industry partners to publish research findings in top conferences and journals.

In this role, you are expected to:

  • Enhance the research team's software workflow, acting as an engineering multiplier.
  • Establish and uphold software engineering and documentation standards, coordinate code reviews, and manage codebase maintenance.
  • Conduct large-scale AI experiments, assisting researchers in validating ideas and prototypes using various datasets.
  • Maintain and support software tools delivered to other units, troubleshoot bugs, and propose future enhancements based on business needs.
  • Optimize models and data pipelines, and deploy AI models for proof-of-concept studies.

Basic Qualifications

  • MS degree or higher with 3+ years of industry experience in multimodal sensor fusion.
  • Proficiency in Python, PyTorch (including torchaudio, torchvision, torchmetrics), PyTorch Lightning, dependency management (Poetry), Git, CI/CD workflows, Docker, Azure cloud MLOps, IDEs (VSCode or PyCharm), and experiment tracking (MLFlow).
  • Experience with high-performance computing systems and job schedulers (Slurm, LSF).
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in industrial research and productization.
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes and container orchestration.
  • Hands-on experience in product development in relevant areas for consumer and enterprise markets.
