Brown University’s School of Engineering seeks a part-time Research Engineer to design, fabricate, purchase, and maintain lab equipment for experimental fluid mechanics projects. You’ll support posters, publications, and grant proposals, while assisting users and guiding design work.

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 1–2 years of design experience; familiarity with CAD, rapid prototyping, Arduino/ESP32 hardware, and Python/MATLAB is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline.
• 1–2 years experience with engineering design and design project experience. Experience in a university laboratory setting is preferred.

Responsabilités

• Design, fabricate, purchase, and maintain laboratory equipment and facilities related to experimental fluid mechanics projects.
• Support preparation of posters, publications, progress reports, and assist in proposal writing for research grants and sponsored funding.
• Provide general laboratory support and maintain fabrication equipment, assist users, provide design guidance, and fabricate support.
• Maintain and improve lab organization system and liaise with the Brown Design Workshop, IT, Facilities, and Environmental Health & Safety.
