As a key member of our interdisciplinary team - which includes researchers, designers, and engineers - you will develop AI models that run on our wearable devices in real-time and enable cutting-edge AI user experiences. **Required Skills:**
Research Engineer, Embedded Contextual AI Responsibilities:
1. Train and optimize AI models that process video and bio-sensor data in real-time
2. Build and maintain software pipelines that quantize, lower, and deploy AI models on wearable edge devices, including smart glasses and watches
3. Partner closely with other scientists and engineers to develop compelling live demos, reusable components, and robust tools that advance the state-of-the-art in how humans use AI systems
4. Embrace the ambiguity of problem solving in a collaborative research environment: learn constantly, educate others, dive into new technical areas and unfamiliar technologies
**Minimum Qualifications:**

5. Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta
6. 1+ years of experience training, deploying, and testing AI models in python
7. 1+ years of experience developing firmware for microcontrollers in C/C++

8. MS degree or equivalent experience in computer science, human-computer interaction, electrical engineering, bioinformatics, robotics or related field
9. Experience deploying models on accelerators such as Ethos-U55
10. Experience with human-computer-interaction
11. Experience with the research process (e.g., having participated on an academic publication)
**Public Compensation:**
$56.25/hour to $173,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
