Job summary

Rice University in Houston is seeking a Research Engineer to assist in the development and research of new technologies for the Rice Center for Membrane Excellence. The role combines in-office collaboration with remote work to support ongoing projects and safe operations.

Position Summary:

The Research Engineer is responsible for assisting in thedevelopment and research of new technologies for the Rice Center for MembraneExcellence . This position participates in the planning,design, and execution of research projects; conducts experiments;collects and analyzes data; and contributes to the interpretationand communication of research findings. The Research Engineermaintains accurate research records, prepares technical reports andpresentations, collaborates with multidisciplinary teams, stayscurrent on relevant technological advancements, and adheres toestablished safety and regulatory requirements in support ofongoing research initiatives.

Workplace Location:

This position is offered as a hybrid role, combining both in-officeand remote work to provide flexibility and support collaboration.Per Rice policy 440 , workarrangements may be subject to change.

Hiring Range:

$63,731 – $80,000 annually

*Exempt (salaried) positions under FLSAare not eligible for overtime.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree
• Two or more (2+) years of experience in applied research,experimental testing, or engineering project development

• Maintain accurate records of experiments, results,methodologies, and related research activities.
• Contribute to the preparation of reports, technical documents,presentations, and other materials outlining researchfindings.
• Stay current on industry trends, advancements, and emergingtechnologies relevant to the field of research.
• Adhere to established safety protocols and ensure compliancewith applicable regulatory standards during experiments andresearch activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
