Our Organization and Mission: The Office represents the State of Florida in state and federal civil and criminal courts, from trial courts to the Supreme Court of the United States.

Position Summary: This position is in the Office of the Attorney General within the Antitrust Enforcement Unit in Tallahassee, Florida.

Pay: $95,000 - $105,000 Annually.

Qualifications:

Eight (8) years of professional experience analyzing, interpreting and forecasting economic data. Or

A bachelor’s degree in economics from an accredited college or university and four (4) years of professional experience analyzing, interpreting and forecasting economic data. Or

A master’s degree in economics from an accredited college or university and two (2) years of professional experience analyzing, interpreting and forecasting economic data. Or

A doctorate degree in economics from an accredited college or university.

Preference given to applicants with

  • Advanced degree in economics
  • At least two (2) years professional experience analyzing, interpreting and forecasting economic data
  • Experience in Antitrust Economics, Data Analytics, Industrial Organization or Complex Litigation Damages Estimation

The Work You Will Do: The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:

Performs economic analysis.

Prepares memos to attorneys and discusses case theories and strategies with attorneys with an emphasis on economic theories.

Develops computer-generated charts and graphics.

Serves as economic expert witness and as liaison with other expert economists and state purchasing officials.

Establishes research methodology and designs formats for compiling and analyzing data.

Gathers, compiles, codes, and processes data.

Oversees the input of statistical data into databases.

Serves as liaison with expert economists.

Aids in the drafting of outside pleadings, investigative subpoena, and discovery requests.

Drafts inquiries for information to other law enforcement agencies and responds to requests for information.

Aids in the design of computer programs to assist in economic anaysis.

Performs related work as required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of economic theory, principles, terminology and techniques.
  • Knowledge of statistics.
  • Knowledge of data collection principles and methods.
  • Knowledge of research methodology and design principles and techniques.
  • Ability to plan, design and conduct economic research studies.
  • Ability to collect, analyze and interpret economic data.
  • Knowledge of basic antitrust legal principles.
