Job summary

Water Lilies Food, LLC is seeking an R&D Engineer to join its Bay Shore, NY team. You will support process development, scale-up of new products, validation of equipment, and collaboration with Operations, QA, Logistics, and Commercialization.

The ideal candidate has a BS in Engineering with 3+ years in food & beverage engineering, strong analytical skills, and experience in product development and large-scale commercialization.

• Develop SOPs for new and existing equipment and processes.
• Train Operations staff to use new and existing equipment and processes.
• Coordinate test runs and trials with production facilities and appropriate departments.
• Assist with new product scale up, including production trials.
• Coordinate in-house or 3rd-party analytical studies for projects as requested.
• Support Operations in selection and use of equipment for production.
• Provides support for other teams as requested.

The R&D Engineer is responsible for assisting the R&D Manager with process development and optimization, scale-up of new products, validation of new equipment, and assisting the Operations team with their day-to-day operations. Reports to the R&D Manager and will collaborate with the Operations, Quality Assurance, Logistics, and Commercialization Departments.

Physical Requirements:

This role requires physical mobility of the employee as they will need to enter various parts of the factory. The employee will occasionally move within the office to access office machinery, file cabinets, and collaborate with colleagues. Consistent use of office equipment, such equipment may include but not limited to computers, phones, printers, and copiers. The employee will be required to frequently communicate with both internal staff members as well as external parties or customers and must be able to convey accurate information. This position may require repositioning of or movement of equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
