Job summary

Electric Power Engineers, LLC is seeking a Power Systems Engineer Intern to work on grid resiliency, risk-based planning, and reliability analysis. You will contribute to process improvements and develop Python scripts while bridging theory and hands-on training.

Location involves Spring remote work in the U.S. and Summer in-person work in Austin, Texas, with opportunities to collaborate on renewable energy projects and Smart Grids, across generation interconnection and distribution planning.

Qualifications

• Current enrollment in a PhD program with a major in Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering Technology.
• Completion of, or current enrollment in, power systems fundamentals classes is strongly preferred.
• Experience with grid resiliency, risk-based planning, risk assessment, and reliability analysis is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• The Power Systems Engineer Intern will perform projects such as grid resiliency, risk-based planning, risk assessment, and reliability analysis.
• Contribute to process improvement efforts, including development of Python scripts.
• Report to an experienced Manager and gain exposure to exciting projects building industry knowledge.

Qualifications

Bring your passion, here's what’s needed:

• Current enrollment in, a PhD degree program with a major in Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering Technology from an accredited college or university.
• Completion of, or current enrollment in, power systems fundamentals class(es) (strongly preferred)
• Experience with grid resiliency, risk-based planning, risk assessment, and reliability analysis (strongly preferred)
• Minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher
