Job summary

GEICO is seeking a skilled R&D Analyst to join our analytics team in the United States. The role focuses on data exploration, modeling, and delivering insights that drive insurance products, underwriting, marketing, and claims decisions.

The analyst will work with cross-functional teams to translate large datasets into business value, develop new metrics, and apply advanced analytics to improve pricing and risk assessment. Master’s or PhD preferred.

Qualifications

  • Proficient in R (Python a plus) and SAS/SQL for data analysis.
  • Experience with cloud databases and Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, charts).
  • Knowledge of insurance rating products, claims, underwriting and marketing domains.
  • Strong data mining, statistical methods and project management experience.

Responsibilities

  • Create and support insurance products and related data analyses across UW, Claims and Marketing.
  • Perform data exploration and R&D research with cross‑functional teams.
  • Translate large datasets into business value and develop new analytics metrics.
  • Experiment with modeling techniques to derive insights for pricing and risk.

Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate.
