Kessler Foundation's Raynor Cerebellum Project is hiring a Research Data Support Specialist (Data Concierge) to manage the data pipeline for one or more funded teams. You will shepherd data acquisition, metadata monitoring, and deposition of harmonized data into the central repository.
The role requires independence, experience with time-series data, Python or R, data modeling, and a neuroscience background. Growth opportunities exist within a collaborative neuroscience environment.
The Raynor Cerebellum Project (RCP) is hiring one or more Research Data Support Specialists to join our Data team. This is the conventional title. But the RCP is anything but conventional and internally some of us are calling this role a “Data Concierge.” As you read more, you will understand why.
RCP is a philanthropy with the goal of improving the lives of patients with disorders of a part of the brain called the “cerebellum” and doing so soon. We fund multiple clinical teams that are recording extensive data from the brains of human patients who are in the hospital for their health care. We are aggregating the data in a central repository (this is where we need help) and performing machine learning and artificial intelligence analyses to create a foundation model of brain activity.
As a Data Concierge you will support the entire data pipeline for one or more of our funded research teams, from data acquisition and meta-data monitoring to final deposition of harmonized data in the RCP data repository. In this role, you'll take ownership of data management work, contribute to technical direction, and partner closely with our data collection teams, RCP scientists, and data stakeholders to deliver impactful solutions.
This is a role for scientists who can operate independently, manage ambiguity, and apply knowledge of data management, coding, and neuroscience with minimal oversight. It offers opportunity for growth and a potential path to a data analysis role.
Why is this so important? Because data is the lifeblood of RCP and our research partners need to feel like the sharing of their data is seamless and even enjoyable.
You will report to a leader on the RCP Data team. Final team and/or location placement will be determined during the interview process.
