The Laboratory for Relational Cognition, directed by Adam Green, is hiring for the position of Research Coordinator/Assistant, Department of Psychology. The position will focus on NSF- and foundation-funded research investigating creativity and character in educational contexts. In conjunction with the project team, the research coordinator will contribute to ramping-up and conducting large-scale data collection efforts involving multiple institutions. Depending on the level of interest, the research coordinator will have substantial opportunity to engage with all aspects of the project, including the development of new computational tools to assess creativity, data analysis, and write-up. There is also opportunity to contribute to a broader set of lab-based studies on cognitive and neural mechanisms of creativity, and to studies employing neuromodulation-, training-, and curriculum-based approaches to enhance creative cognition and executive function.
Duties Include But Are Not Limited To
- Coordinate with study participants, families, educators, and school administrators to support the successful implementation of the research intervention and completion of data collection activities.
- Collect, organize, and analyze behavioral, fMRI, and educational data.
- Coordinate day-to-day lab operations including managing undergraduate research assistants and maintaining project schedule.
- Oversee lab budget including expense reports, procurement requests, supplier invoices, and any other relevant GMS requests on behalf of the lab and its members.
- Develop and maintain lab IRB protocols.
Work Interactions
Reporting to the PI, the
Research Coordinator/Assistant collaborates in various capacities with others to advance the work of the lab, including leading/ directing project initiatives and meetings, training others to conduct behavioral and MRI sessions with participants, conducting these sessions themselves, designing project/ experiment materials, and conducting administrative work – e.g., student volunteers; and interacts with subject participants, the PI, graduate and undergraduate students in the laboratory, staff and faculty in the Psychology department, Main Campus Research Services Center, Center for Functional Imagine, laboratory’s collaborators at other institutes- in person, by email, and telephone.
Requirements And Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in related field
- 1 to 2 years of work experience in a Lab setting – including laboratory research experience
- Customer-oriented experience
- Interpersonal skills as well
- High level of organizational skills
- Computing and data analysis skills preferred

Pay Range
The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is:
$18.28 - $27.33
Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University’s business needs and external factors.
