Smith College seeks a Research Computing Specialist to provide cross‑platform support for macOS, Windows, and Linux in the Science Center. You will assist in scientific software environments, HPC resources, and data workflows across labs, classrooms, and offices.

The role includes training, documentation, and collaboration with CATS staff to advance AI/ML computing, data storage, and security. A bachelor’s degree and 5+ years in a similar setting are preferred.

Formación

Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum 5 years in cross-platform client systems in higher education, research, or enterprise environments.
Experience with macOS and Windows administration; Linux familiarity is desirable.
Experience with deployment platforms, scripting, automation, and command-line tools.
Strong troubleshooting and ability to communicate technical concepts clearly.

Responsabilidades

Provide deployment, maintenance, and support for macOS, Windows, and Linux across labs and classrooms.
Support HPC resources, research data storage, AI/ML computing, and scientific software environments.
Develop training materials and documentation; assist with workshops and knowledge bases.
Collaborate on web services, digital tools, and departmental websites as needed.
