Role Overview

We are a group focused on scientific research related to understanding the Sun, its magnetic energy, and its impact on Earth and the solar system. Our main approach involves artificial intelligence and data-driven analysis, including designing, implementing, training, validating, and deploying AI models.

Objectives of this Role
  • Design, implement, train, validate, and deploy AI models applied to heliophysics.
  • Develop new algorithms for data interrogation, homogenization, and analysis.
  • Present work at conferences and publish in academic journals.
  • Write and secure proposals for self-guided research contracts.
Responsibilities
  • Write scientific code for training and validating AI models for data interrogation, homogenization, and space weather applications.
  • Design and implement AI pipelines to advance scientific discovery in heliophysics, focusing on solar image data such as magnetograms and ultraviolet images.
  • Collaborate with scientists to develop AI-driven approaches for heliophysics research and missions.
Minimum Requirements
  • PhD in Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, or related field with relevant AI experience.
  • At least 1 year of experience training and validating AI algorithms in heliophysics.
  • Proficiency in scientific programming in Python, with experience using frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX.
  • Expertise in space weather forecasting and working with magnetogram and ultraviolet images from various missions.

Salary Range: $78,624 - $159,931
