Job summary

Tanaq Management Services (TMS) seeks a part-time Subject Matter Expert III in Hyattsville, MD to review manuscripts, publications text, tables, and figures for file type, completeness, and accuracy of medical terminology. This hybrid remote role is limited to 500 hours and requires a Master’s degree or higher.

Responsibilities include reviewing confidentiality, legal authority, and privacy protections per federal laws, ensuring OMB statements, and assessing consent language.

Qualifications

• Regulatory literacy on 45 CFR 46, IRB procedures related to informed consent and assent
• Knowledge of the Paperwork Reduction Act (44 U.S.C. Chapter 35) requirements and OMB regulations (5 CFR 1320)
• Familiarity with statistical disclosure limitation methods for microdata and tables with counts/frequencies
• Strong analytical and written communication skills to evaluate and develop technical and procedural documentation
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship now or in the future

About the Role

We are seeking a Subject Matter Expert III to review manuscripts, publications text, tables, figures, and supplementary materials for file type, completeness, accuracy of medical and scientific terminology, and conformity.

This is a hybrid remote role located in Hyattsville, MD. This is a part-time, temporary position with a maximum of 500 hours.

Responsibilities

• Confirm confidentiality, legal authority, and privacy protections are consistent with federal laws and agency requirements, recommend any changes needed to meet applicable laws and requirements, identifying inconsistencies or gaps.


• Conduct a review of proposed collections to verify OMB-required statements are included specifically as they relate to agency confidentiality, legal authority, and privacy protections.


• Review consent language in prepared documents to confirm compliance with CDC and NCHS confidentiality requirements.


• Providing high level statistical disclosure review of microdata files and/or tables prior to dissemination.

Requirements

Required Experience and Skills

• Regulatory literacy on 45 CFR 46, IRB procedures specifically related to complex informed consent and assent such as broad consent, biomarker research, sensitive data collections.


• Knowledge of the Paperwork Reduction Act (44 U.S.C. Chapter 35) requirements and OMB regulations (5 CFR 1320).


• Familiarity of statistical disclosure limitation methods as they related to microdata files and/or tables displaying counts or frequencies.


• Additional skills required include strong analytical and written communication skills to evaluate and develop technical and procedural documentation.


• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.

Education and Training

• Master’s degree or higher in health sciences, social sciences, statistics, or a related field.

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.


• May need to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
