Job summary

E Ink Corporation is seeking a creative chemist to join a team developing innovations in electrophoretic ink materials. This full-time scientist position works under senior researchers and focuses on color pigments and new ink formulations within the Research Department.

The role involves pigment surface modification, collaboration with analytical scientists, and electrical/electro-optical measurements for color displays, with emphasis on safe lab practices and data documentation.

Qualifications

  • BS/BA in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, materials science and engineering or relevant science fields.
  • 0-2 years of experience in a laboratory environment with various equipment; polymer and colloid science preferred.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to write scientific reports/updates.
  • Self-directed, motivated, hands-on personality.
  • Ability to multitask and work independently and in a team.
  • Aptitude for learning new knowledge and skills; flexible to changes.

Responsibilities

  • Work with senior technical staff on laboratory experiments, pigment surface modification, and ink formulations.

THE ROLE

E Ink is seeking a creative chemist to join a team making innovations in electrophoretic ink materials systems. This opportunity is for a full-time scientist to work under the supervision of Senior Research Scientists. The successful candidate willbe responsible forthe development of color pigments and the new electronic ink formulations. This position is with E Ink’s Research Department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The essential duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Work with senior technical staff to conduct laboratory experiments primarily in pigment surface modification and ink formulations
  • Collaborate with analytical scientists to characterize pigments and materials
  • Perform electrical and electro optical measurements for new color displays
  • Document processes and results
  • Participate in group and project meetings
  • Work safely in the laboratory adhering to the company’s safety protocols and policies
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

  • Effective oral and written communication skills and the ability to write scientific reports/technical updates
  • Self-directed, motivated, and hands-on personality
  • Ability to multitask, work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Aptitude inacquiringnew knowledge and skills, flexible to adapt to changes
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Theanticipatedannual base salary range for this position is $70,000-100,000, not includingvariable pay. T he final offer will be based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's experience, education, skills, qualifications, and geographic location.
