Job Description

What is the Opportunity?

Research Associate responsible for fundamental analysis of companies in the U.S. Oil & Gas E&P Sector.

What will you do?

  • Assist in the development and detailed modeling of company-specific financial models
  • Coordinate, generate, and maintain research reports, presentations, and databases
  • Provide research support to analysts as required
  • Develop expertise in the U.S. Oil & Gas E&P Sector
  • Support and respond to client queries related to the sector
  • Proactively identify operational risks and control deficiencies in the business
  • Review and comply with Firm Policies applicable to your activities
  • Escalate operational risk loss events, control deficiencies, and risks promptly to your line manager and relevant risk and control functions

What do you need to succeed?

Must have:

  • Undergraduate degree or similar qualification with a focus on Business, Mathematics, or other quantitative fields
  • FINRA Licensing Requirements - Series 7, 63, 86, 87, SIE

Other Required Qualifications:

  • Experience of 1-2+ years within the U.S. Oil & Gas E&P sector or exposure to equity research/capital markets
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Strong PC skills, especially in Microsoft Office and sourcing data from the internet and publications
  • Customer service orientation for internal and external clients
  • Ability to perform under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Attention to detail and commitment to tasks
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Self-organized and able to work independently
  • Effective team collaboration skills

  • Regular interaction with clients
  • Supporting Senior Analysts

  • Internal clients including sales and trading teams
