Position Summary

Laronde is searching for an Associate Scientist who brings collaborative drive, scientific rigor and a desire to change the world with new eRNA medicines for patients. The Senior Research Associate be an integral part of a multidisciplinary team that seeks to push the possibilities of endless RNA therapeutics.

Key Responsibilities

• Setting up mammalian-cell assays in multi-well format to aid in the development of endless RNA therapeutics
• Assist in the design and development of experiments to examine the expression, function, and localization of proteins in cells
• Transfection of mammalian cell lines with DNA and RNA
  Handling and plating of primary cells, immune cells and cell lines for in vitro testing
• Analysis by flow cytometry to detect specific modalities
• Running of gels of different formats for the analysis of nucleic acids and proteins
• Western blots and immunofluorescence analysis
• Critical data analysis skills, attention to details and troubleshooting abilities.
• Maintain detailed records of experimental protocols and data in electronic laboratory notebook in accordance with company policy.
• Effectively collaborate with a fully integrated research team to facilitate the success of projects.
• Excellent organizational skills and documentation practices.
• Additional duties and responsibilities as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in cell biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, or related discipline
• Experience in a biotechnology company in biologics discovery and development
• 8+ years experience with Bachelors, 6+ years with Masters required
• Experience with nucleic acid transfections, construct handling and procedures
• Experience in the handling and culturing of mammalian cell lines and primary cellsExperience with cell-based assays and fluorescence imaging techniques
• Molecular biology experience involving transcription and gene expression
• Experience in the delivery of RNA to mammalian cells
