Research Associate Position - Division of Cardiovascular Medicine

Location: Philadelphia, PA

The Division of Cardiovascular Medicine in the Department of Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania is seeking candidates for a Research Associate position within the Academic Support Staff. This initial appointment is for one (1) year, with the possibility of renewal based on performance and funding, up to three (3) years.

Qualifications: Applicants must hold a Ph.D. degree and have expertise in health services research, particularly in analyzing large-scale data sources such as administrative claims and electronic health records (EHR). A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in manuscript preparation and leading data-driven research is preferred.

Responsibilities:

  1. Design, conduct, and analyze research studies on the impact of health and social policies (e.g., Medicaid, SNAP) on health outcomes.
  2. Lead data analysis and manage research projects.
  3. Oversee a team of trainees and statistical analysts.
  4. Participate in project design, data interpretation, and manuscript preparation.
