Job summary

University of South Florida is seeking a Research Associate for its Pediatrics laboratory to investigate maternal infections and neonatal outcomes using organotypic and animal models. The role focuses on infection mechanisms, host responses, and the development of related experimental systems.

The successful candidate will contribute to experiments, data analysis, and scientific writing while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team led by Dr. Randis.

Qualifications

• PhD in Microbiology, Immunology, Cell Biology, or a related field (or Master's degree with significant research experience)
• Competencies with basic biostatistics and bioinformatics methods and supporting software tools.
• Effective at troubleshooting and optimizing protocols.

Responsibilities

• Independently design and perform complex laboratory experiments following standard operating procedures.
• Contribute to technical writing for grant submissions and peer-reviewed publications.
• Assist in mentoring and training PhD/MD students and fellows.
