The Lifespan Stress and Health Lab is in the Department of Psychology in Dietrich College at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA. Our lab investigates how early adversity and stress shape psychological and biological processes that influence health across development. We use a range of methods, including daily experience sampling, biological sampling, and laboratory-based paradigms.
Our lab is seeking a full time Research Associate to lead our laboratory operations. This position will be an appointment for 1-year. This role will involve supporting multiple data collection projects, overseeing biological protocols such as collecting cell cultures, blood draws and immunoassays as well as supervisor on a small team.
Core Responsibilities
- Providing various forms of research-related support, including recruitment of community samples
- Conducting interviews with youth and caregivers
- Process payment of participants, and laboratory and data maintenance.
- Training in biological data collection, including blood draws, cell culture, and immunoassays.
- Supervise a team of undergraduate research assistants.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Biology, Neuroscience, Public Health or a related field
- Prior experience in research and/or academic settings
- Experience working with you and families from diverse backgrounds
- Experience and comfort performing biological protocols
- Excellent leadership and organizational skills
- A combination of education and proven experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered.
