Job Summary
The Research Associate (RA) at Crown Bioscience NC will support the development, execution, and analysis of preclinical research projects in oncology and immunology. This cross-functional role involves working with both in vivo and in vitro models, including animal studies, cell culture work, and data analysis. The RA will contribute to experimental execution, model development, and scientific reporting, collaborating closely with scientists and research teams to ensure high-quality study delivery.
Responsibilities
  • Assist scientists and senior research associates (SRA) in the design and execution of research studies and IACUC protocols.
  • Develop and maintain xenograft models (e.g., PDX) in rodents; perform tasks such as tumor measurement, compound dosing, and sample collection.
  • Conduct cell culture work including passaging and expansion of immune cells or organoids, and maintain cryopreserved cell stocks.
  • Analyze and interpret data using statistical tools and established research methodologies.
  • Prepare accurate reports, summaries, and presentations of experimental results.
  • Participate in team meetings and communicate study progress with internal teams and external collaborators.
  • Maintain precise experimental records and ensure all activities follow ethical and regulatory guidelines.
  • Support operational tasks as needed and complete assignments from supervisors in a timely manner.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in biology, pharmacology, physiology, animal science, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with both in vivo and in vitro experimental techniques.
  • Proficiency in data collection and analysis tools (e.g., Excel, GraphPad Prism).
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Attention to detail and adherence to research protocols and ethical standards.
Preferred Requirements
  • Master’s degree in biology or pharmacology is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with rodent models and in vivo procedures (e.g., dosing, surgeries, sample collection).
  • Prior experience with patient-derived xenograft (PDX) models.
  • Experience with organoid culture and organoid-based model development.
  • Previous exposure to regulated lab environments and contribution to scientific presentations or publications.
