Job description

The Alaka`ina Foundation Family of Companies (FOCs) is looking for a Research Associate III to provide research support administration services for our government customer in San Antonio, TX.

DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists with collection of supporting documentation for requirement packages, IACUC/IRB protocols for projects performed under this contract, research proposals and protocols, manuscripts, SOPs, reports and presentation editing/review.
  • Assists Government personnel in initiating and maintaining regulatory IACUC/IRB requirements.
  • Ability to develop and coordinate the implementation of clinical research studies, including regulatory requirements, maintenance of study records and all activities associated with internal and external audits.
  • Assists in ordering supplies for research under contract for animal procurement, subject to final Government approval.
  • Assists in maintenance of inventory of supplies for research under contract.
  • Modifies and plans research experiment schedules, procedures, and tests.
  • Assists in the maintenance of a clean and operational lab space.
  • Ability to develop, organize and maintain the study database and data validation.
  • Maintains data and records securely, including the use of an assigned laboratory notebook.
  • Writes and edits research material for publication and presentation.
  • Oversees the work of junior level contract personnel.
  • Assists PI in tracking and updating established project budgets.
  • Assist the Government Support Agreements Manager with support agreements. All formal communication shall come from the Government Support Agreements Manager.

REQUIRED DEGREE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

  • Bachelor's degree plus ten (10) years' related experience or master's degree plus three (3) years' related experience.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Maintain current certification in American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS); American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Course; American Red Cross CPR (Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation); or equivalent.

REQUIRED CITIZENSHIP AND CLEARANCE:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

  • Must be able to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC)
