Job summary

The University of Miami/UHealth Department of Surgery is seeking a full-time Research Associate 2 to contribute to cutting-edge cancer research in Miami. Working under senior staff, you will perform complex experiments, analyze datasets, and help shape study design.

You will bridge computational biology and wet-lab work, collaborate with data scientists and cancer biologists, and develop workflows using R, Python, and GitHub; responsibilities also include data visualization and manuscript

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field.
• 2+ years of relevant experience.
• Strong data collection, organization, and analysis skills.
• Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve problems.
• Sound judgment in critical decisions.

Responsibilities

• Bridge computational biology and wet-lab research by analyzing multi-omics datasets from patient tumors and disease models.
• Collaborate with data scientists, bioinformaticians, and cancer biologists to identify gene regulatory networks.
• Analyze high-throughput sequencing datasets (RNA-seq, ChIP-seq, ATAC-seq, scRNA-seq) and develop computational workflows using R, Python, and GitHub.
• Contribute to data visualization, interpretation, and manuscript preparation; assist with wet-lab techniques as needed.
