Job summary

Russell Tobin is partnering with a leading life sciences organization to identify a Research Associate II for an opportunity in Tucson, AZ. The role focuses on hands-on laboratory experimentation to support assay development and project activities.

Responsibilities include tissue sample preparation, automated staining, data analysis, and collaboration with pathologists. A bachelor’s in life sciences and 2–4 years of lab experience are required; the contract is 2 years.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences required.
• 2–4 years of post-college lab experience preferred.
• Hands-on wet-lab experience with pipetting and basic techniques.
• Experience handling biological samples and chemicals with safety procedures.
• Experience with automation/instrumentation in the lab.
• Ability to follow established protocols and work with tissue samples.
• Strong attention to detail, communication, collaboration, and problem solving.
• Proficiency with MS Office and Google Docs/Sheets/Slides.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on laboratory experiments to support assay development and research.
• Receive and prepare tissue samples on slides and perform staining with automation.
• Execute study designs and protocols with accuracy.
• Collect, analyze, and document experimental results.
• Coordinate with pathologists to interpret study results.
• Support new studies on a new platform and learn quickly.
• Prepare technical reports, protocols, and quantitative analyses.
• Maintain complete lab documentation per quality standards.
• Troubleshoot issues and support corrective actions and process improvements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to project planning.
