Job summary

The Research Associate 2 position in LSU's Chemistry department, located in Choppin Hall, supports Dr. Daniel Kuroda's lab.

You will investigate molecular structure and mechanisms underlying electrolyte properties using IR spectroscopy and electrochemical methods, and you will collaborate with theoreticians to gain molecular insights. The role emphasizes experimental work, manuscript writing, and proposal support, with duties split between lab research, documenting results, and other tasks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemistry or related field required.
• 1 year of related work experience required.
• PhD in chemistry or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• 60% Perform research in the lab ranging from material preparation, characterization, and modeling, develop projects and propose new ideas.
• 35% Write manuscripts and support proposal writing and reports on various projects.
• 5% Other duties as assigned.
