The Department of Chemistry at Louisiana State University (LSU) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor in Experimental Physical Chemistry of Biological Systems (Broadly Defined). Research areas of interest include, but are not limited to, spectroscopy, imaging, biomolecular dynamics, biophysics, analytical technologies for biological systems, and related fields. Candidates with research areas that align with the broad mission of the National Institutes of Health are encouraged to apply.

The successful candidate will develop and maintain an innovative and independent research program, demonstrate excellence in teaching and mentoring at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and contribute to service activities that advance the Department and the broader scientific community.

Work Location: 0232 A.R. Choppin Hall - Chemistry.

Job Responsibilities

Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in chemistry based on departmental needs, such as courses in general chemistry, physical chemistry, and other advanced topics, and participate in departmental, university, and professional service activities.

Establish and maintain a nationally recognized research program; secure external funding to support research activities; disseminate research findings through publications, presentations, and other appropriate venues; and mentor graduate and undergraduate research students.

Minimum Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Chemistry, or a related field.
